Torippa is a travel planning app published by AldeanApps ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. If you have any question, write to torippa-support@aldeanapps.com.
1. Information you give us
- Account: your name, email address and password (handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see your password). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from your Google account.
- Profile: the details you choose to add, such as username, bio, home city, profile photo link, cover color, favorite places and your privacy choices.
- Travel content: trips, destinations, dates, itinerary activities, stays, packing lists, tasks and trip cover images you pick.
- Places: places you save on the map, including their name, address, coordinates, notes and collections.
- Expenses: balances, expenses, amounts, currencies, who paid and who took part, and payment confirmations between participants. Torippa only records amounts; it does not process payments.
- Social: friend requests, friends, travel crews, trip invitations and the messages you send in 1:1 chats with friends. Also the users you block and the reports you send, including the text of a message you report.
2. Information collected automatically
- Location: only if you allow it, the app uses your device location while it is open to center the map and find places near you. Your device location is not stored on our servers and is never collected in the background.
- Usage and diagnostics: Firebase Analytics collects basic usage information such as app opens, screens viewed, device model, operating system version and an app instance identifier.
- Advertising: Google AdMob shows ads in the app and may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and ad interaction data to serve, limit and measure ads, and, where you consent, to personalize them.
3. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To store and sync your trips, places, expenses and messages across your devices.
- To let you collaborate with the people you invite: trip members, balance participants, friends and crew members see the content you share with them.
- To show your public profile to other travelers according to the visibility settings you choose.
- To show ads that keep the app free, and to understand and improve how the app is used.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Who can see your information
- Other Torippa users: your public profile (name, username, photo and the details you leave visible), and the trips, balances, crews and chats you share with them.
- Service providers that run the app for us:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics): firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google AdMob: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Google Maps Platform and Android location and geocoding services: policies.google.com/privacy
- Legal reasons: when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
5. Advertising choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads, and you can change your choice at any time from Settings > Privacy and ads. On any Android device you can reset or delete your advertising ID from the system settings.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Settings > Account > Delete account) or by following the steps at torippa.aldeanapps.com/delete-account. When you delete your account we delete your profile, your saved places, the trips, balances and crews you own, your friend connections, your notifications, the users you blocked and the reports you sent, and your 1:1 chats with their messages (for both participants). You are removed from the trips, crews and balances owned by other people, and the app data stored on your phone is cleared. Your name may remain in expenses of balances owned by other people so their totals stay correct. Blocks other users made against you and reports about you may be kept to protect the community. Copies in backups and logs of our providers are removed on their regular schedule.
7. Security
Information is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers. Access to stored data is limited by security rules so that each person only reads what they own or what has been shared with them.
8. Your rights
You can access and edit most of your information directly in the app, and you can ask us for a copy, a correction or the deletion of your data by writing to torippa-support@aldeanapps.com. Depending on where you live (for example under Argentina's Personal Data Protection Law 25.326 or the EU GDPR) you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
9. Children
Torippa is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know in the app.
